Pattern not taking effect after upload

When I create a pattern and save the form the pattern works nicely.
If, however, I download the form and deploy it to a new server (or the same) the pattern seems to no longer work. If I then edit the form on the new server and save it the pattern works again.
Is there a way to make the pattern active for deployed forms directly or is this the intended behavior?

We use Frevvo version 4.1.5

  This was a bug (#9041) in frevvo v4 and it has been fixed in the latest GS released frevvo v5.1
