The Live Forms server was recently upgraded to support TLS 1.2. Live Forms will drop support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on May 25, 2020.
Why is this happening?
We know you trust frevvo with your mission critical applications. To maintain the highest security standards, and promote the safety of your data, we occasionally need to make security improvements and retire older encryption protocols. To maintain alignment with these best practices and updated compliance requirements from the PCI Security Standards Council, frevvo will be disabling the use of TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 for inbound connections to app.frevvo.com.
What does this mean for me?
After frevvo disables TLS 1.0 and 1.1 encryption, any channels connecting to frevvo will need to use TLS 1.2 or higher. This typically includes Cloud Customers using the API and On-Premise customers with pinging licenses. This change will impact and require action for:
- Cloud Customers using the frevvo client API library
- On-Premise customers using v7.0 or v7.1 with Java 7 (Find out what Java version you are using.)
- On-Premise customers using v6.3 or prior
If you are a Cloud Customer and you are not using the frevvo client API library, or if you are an On-Premise Customer and you are using Live Forms v7.0 or v7.1 with Java 8, or you are using v7.2 or higher this does not impact you and no action is required.
Action Required
Cloud Customers using the frevvo Client API Library
Cloud customers using the frevvo client API library must revise their applications to support TLS 1.2 or higher as soon as possible and no later than May 25, 2020. You may implement these changes immediately.
On-Premise Customers
On-premise customers who meet the guidelines above may take a quick, interim action to resolve this. However, you will need to upgrade by December 31, 2020. See instructions below based on your version.
Interim Action - Complete by May 25, 2020
Switch to our alternate License Server URL. This change will take less than 15 minutes and requires stopping and restarting frevvo. Contact support@frevvo.com for instructions.
This alternate server will be available until September 25, 2020 to allow you time to plan for the Long Term Action, which is to upgrade Live Forms.
Long Term Action - Complete by December 31, 2020
- On-Premise customers using v6.3 or earlier must upgrade to v7.4 or later.
- On-Premise customers using v7.0 - v7.1 with Java 7 may simply upgrade to Java 8, or you may do a full upgrade to Live Forms v7.4+.
- Visit our Software Downloads Directory to download the latest version of Live Forms.
We strongly recommend that all On-Premise customers upgrade to the latest On-Premise release to take advantage of new features and security improvements.
If you have questions about this change, please contact us at support@frevvo.com.
We appreciate you trusting frevvo with your mission critical applications. It is our goal to always provide you with the highest quality of service possible.
Thank you,
